If you are into bodybuilding or fitness then no else can understand better than that how important protein shakes are for the body. Some people might say that protein shakes have steroids, while many say it is harmful. But there is nothing like that. You can consume protein shakes after workout. Since these things are quick post workout meal, most of the people opt for protein shakes.Generally protein shake is made by mixing the protein powder with water and in some cases people add 1 or 2 bananas in the mixture for carbohydrates. Nothing is wrong with that quick and easy recipe. Some people are bored of the same taste that they have to consume since they have invested their hard earned money into it. In this article we will show you protein shake recipes which are high in carbs and fats along with protein. So if you are on shredding or cutting then this article might not be suitable for you.
You can also use these recipes as mass gainer shake by increasing the quantity or peanut butter, oats and adding a banana

For all the protein shake recipes mentioned here you should have the following ingredients.
- Skimmed Milk (300-500ml depending upon your choice)
- Organic unsweetened Peanut Butter
- Rolled Oats
- Unflavored whey protein (if you do not have whey protein then you can use greek yogurt instead)
Recipes
1.Chocolate Hazelnut Protein shake
Ingredients :-
1 scoop Whey Protein (Unflavoured or chocolate) or 100g Greek yogurt, 20g Hazelnuts, Skimmed Milk (300-500)ml,1tsp Cocoa Powder ( if your protein is of chocolate flavor then there is no need of adding cocoa powder), Honey(Optional)
Recipe :-
1) Add Skimmed Milk to the blender jar.
2) Add Unflavoured Protein Powder and Cocoa Powder and Honey for sweetness.
3) Add the Hazelnuts and blend it.

2. Caramel Peanut Protein Shake
Caramel Peanut like the chocolate hazelnut has a lot of calories to it and does have some amount of sugar but if you opt this shake once a week then there is no problem with that.

Ingredients :-
(300-500)ml Skimmed Milk, 1 Scoop Whey Protein/ 100g Greek yogurt, 1Tbsp Caramel Sauce, 2 Tbsp Crunchy Peanut butter, 1 banana (optional).
Recipe :-
1) Add the skimmed milk in the blender jar.
2) Add Protein Powder/ Greek yogurt and blend it.
3) Add Caramel Sauce and Peanut Butter and Banana and blend together.
3. Vanilla Protein Lassi
This one is a different kind of Protein Shake. This Protein shake is not recommended as post workout meal. Like the other two this one has less ingredients and we are not going to use protein powder in it.

Ingredients :-
200ml Milk, 200g Yoghurt, 1Tsp Vanilla Extract, 1 Tbps Sugar or Honey (Sweetness).
Recipe :-
1) Add the Milk and Yoghurt in bowl or a container and whisk them together.
2) Add the vanilla extract and Sugar and whisk it again until smooth.
If you want to increase the protein content in it then you can add 1 scoop unflavoured whey protein.
4. Protein Strawberry Milkshake
This recipe again has number of calories like the previous but there is no compromise with the taste. Like the name suggests it as tasty.
Ingredients :-
5-8 Chopped Strawberry, 300ml Skimmed Milk, 1 Scoop Whey Protein/100g Greek yogurt, 1Tbsp Sugar or Honey as sweetners, 5 ice cubes.
Recipe :-
1) Add the Milk, Protein/yoghurt, ice cubes and blend.
2) Add the chopped strawberries and sweetener and blend them together.

5. Cold Coffee Protein shake
If you love cold coffee then this one is for you. You should not use Yoghurt in this recipe this will make the protein shake taste awful.

Ingredients:-
2 tsp instant coffee powder, 1 scoop unflunflavored whey protein, 1tbsp sugar, 300 ml Skimmed Milk, 3-5 ice cubes
Recipe :-
1) Take small quantity of Skimmed Milk and add sugar and coffee powder and ice. Mix it in the blender jar until froth develops.
2) When the froth is developed enough add the rest of the milk and blend together and later add the protein powder.
6. Blueberry Protein smoothie
Blueberries are tasty and the blueberry protein smoothie is also very tasty. If you have a sweeth tooth then you should at least try this one once in a while.

Ingredients :-
300 ml Skimmed Milk, 5-8 blueberry, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 scoop Unflavoured Protein Powder.
Recipe :-
1) First add the blueberries in the blender jar and add small amount of milk to it and blend.
2) Add the rest of the milk, sugar and protein powder to the paste formed and blend it all together.
Blueberries are expensive in India. So trying these out is not recommendation from us.
7. Mango Protein Smoothie
As summer is going on, Mangoes are all around. You might be thinking that all these recipes are high in sugar and calories how could it help us in any way ?
These recipes are intended in a way that you can have some tasty yet protein rich shakes in while. Consume on daily basis is not recommended.
Mango Protein Smoothie |
Ingredients :-
1/2 cup Mango pulp, 300 ml Skimmed Milk, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 scoop Unflavoured Protein Powder.
Recipe :-
1) Add the Mango pulp and sugar in a blender jar and add the milk and protein powder.
2) Add some ice cubes to cool the shake.
8. Chocolate and Strawberry Protein shake.
If made properly, this recipe is going to taste so good that you might fall in love with this one.

Ingredients :-
1 scoop unflaUnflav Protein Powder, 2 tsp cocoa powder, 1tbsp strawberry syrup, 300ml Skimmed Milk, 1 tbsp sugar, choco chip (optional).
Recipe :-
1) First divide the milk in half and take one half and add half of the sugar, cocoa powder and protein powder and blend together.
2) Now take the other half of milk and add the strawberry syrup, sugar, protein powder and blend together.
3) Since both of the mixtures will be thick, you can add the mixtures and it won't mix easily.
4) First fill the glass with strawberry mixture and then carefully fill the rest with chocolate mixture and garnish with choco chips.
9. Vanilla Caramel Protein Shake
This recipe is quick and easy one. You might like it very much that you can not resist it consuming twice.

Ingredients :-
1 scoop Unflavoured Protein Powder/ 100g geek yogurt, 1 tbsp caramel sauce, 300ml Skimmed Milk, 1tsp vanilla extract, chopped almonds(optional), 2-5 ice cubes.
Recipe :-
1) Add the milk, protein powder/ yoghurt, vanilla extract and ice cubes and blend together.
2) Add the caramel sauce and mix gently.
3) Garnish it with chopped almonds.
10. Elaichi Protein Smoothie
If you like the flavor of cardamom then this one will be your favourite protein smoothie.

Ingredients :-
1 tsp grounded cardamom powder, 300ml Skimmed Milk, 1 scoop Unflavoured Protein Powder, 2 tbsp sugar, 2-5 ice cubes.
Recipe :-
1) Mix the milk and cardamom powder first.
2) Now add sugar protein powder and ice cubes and blend together.
11. Nutty Protein shake
As the name suggests this one has nuts and high in calories. If you ever tried Badam Shake then you might forget it after drinking this one.

1 scoop Unflavoured Protein Powder, 300ml Skimmed Milk, 2 tbsp natural peanut butter, 10 chopped almonds, 2 tbsp honey, chopped peanuts.
Recipe :-
1) Blend the milk, peanut butter, protein powder and honey together.
2) Add chopped almonds and peanut and shake it.
Since this shake already has peanut butter, it recommended that you should less peanuts.
